Where to get Table and field definitions for Dynamics CE 9.1 On-premises?

Posted on by 69 User Group Leader

My organization is upgrading from Dynamics CE 8.2 On-premises to Dynamics 9.1 On-premises.

Where can I get the Table and Field definitions (Metadata Schema) for Dynamics 9.1 On-premises? We need that to find the column/field changes for updating our data models.

I don't have 9.1 On-premises installed yet so I can't use the Xrm Toolbox tool Metadata Document Generator.

I also have been unable to find this in the Online Documentation for Customer Engagement (On-premises) 9.1.

After the SDK has been moved to NuGet (and a separate download has been removed) an excel file containing the metadata is not available.

Keep in mind that between 8.2 and 9.1 no entities have been removed or fields have been changed (this last phrase maybe is not entirely true as some datetime fields may have been converted to a different format but I am not 100% sure)

Because you are onpremise you can ask to install a clean 9.1 onpremise environment and run Metadata Document Generator on it (or instead a clean you can try a clone and upgrade of your 8.2 instance)

    hope it helps
