Hi, has anyone used the standard discrete BOM with reference designators or is it even possible without modification?  Thanks.

    Hi JMO54,

I'm interested as to what you mean by 'reference designators'?

Are you referring to the reference column on the BOM in production order details or?

Please expand and I can try and help :)

If you mean reference designator like on a PCBA, then yes, use Position.  You'll need the same item on the BOM multiple times if you place it in multiple reference designators.  Also, if you place first pass / second pass on  (topside / Bottomside) different placement machines, use the operation field to consume components correctly or inventory is going to be tricky when you have open production orders.
