Dynamics App for Outlook - refreshing of the pane isn't always working

Hi there,

we have a strange problem here with our Dynamics App for Outlook: when you open the Dynamics Add-On it first seems to work correctly. Mostly it does, but once in a while it happens quite often the for some users (and it's not always the same users) the displayed information in the pane is not refreshed. For example you track an e-mail, it shows you that it worked, then you click on your next e-mail and now the pane should refresh an display the information of the current e-mail. and that doesn't happen. you still see the information of the last one.

what i have found out so far by google and different microsoft sites: the internet explorer browser cache has to be cleared. YES, this seems to work. But only for a while. that might be it works for 2 days or longer, it might also not work 5 e-mails further. i omplemented a startup script that cleans every temporary folder that is in relation to the Internet Explorer, and also temporary user files. That seemed to have a great effect, but still this problem reoccurs. This seemd to be the only known solution i found. However it just doesn't work for a long time. You either have to close and open the Dynamics pane for every e-mail (which is really annoying) or you need to close and open outlook itself (which is even more annoying).

some one knows this and has a solution?

    Hi,

    I'll give the option "Every time I visit the website" a try. I'd do this via GPO (if that is possible).

    What I tried already was to deny the local temporary Internet storage at all via GPO. However, if you open the options pane with Caches and Databank, there was still listed danymics.com with an amount of a few Megabytes at maximum.

    I will post the result here. But that may take a week or two.

    Have you tried changing your Caching settings (Temporary internet files) in Internet Explorer to "Every time I visit the website"? You can also try an minimise the allocated storage for Temporary files... That will force it to refresh every time the app pane is loaded.

    I havent seen this issue at any other customer I have worked with... and I have implemented App for Outlook for at least 30 customers...

    We did have a short term issue though a couple of weeks ago, that was caused by an Internet Explorer update, in which the pane didnt load at all... But otherwise its never an issue.
