Error When Connecting Dynamics POS Registers

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I use Dynamics POS 2009 to manage my business. I have 2 registers in a store that I need connected together, and the main register is also the server. I've followed Microsoft's article on creating an exact clone user on both computers, not using the built-in administrator account, with same passwords (and tried without password protected accounts too), same user groups, on same network, homegroup, and workgroup, etc. I can't get the 2nd register to connect to the first. It keeps coming up with an error that says:

To complete this operation, you must be logged on to this computer using an account that is an Administrator on both this computer and on the database computer. However, you cannot use the account that is named "Administrator". For more information, see "About system administration from a register computer" in Manager View Help.

I've tried using the database computers' IP in the 2nd registers connection options, and it still returns the same error. All ports are open. What am I doing wrong?
