
The initial issue started with users reporting the following error message:
"Connection with the Application Object Server could not be established."
Upon investigation it was discovered that the service for the AOS was started. I tried starting it and received this error:
"Object Server 05: The application files are not accessible. This can be caused by another Microsoft Dynamics instance using the application files in exclusive mode."
So far I have done the following:
I'm at a loss of what to try next to get this service to start but I will keep searching. The other 5 instances we have running are doing just fine.
Any advice is welcome.

I have the same question (0)Issue is resolved.
Had to log into the server the application files were stored on and set the permissions on the files. The root directory had the permissions set but they hadn't been propagated down to the sub-directories.
