Users with the Review Financial Performance duty (thus View Financial Reports privilege) have been able to view financial reports until this week. 10 of the reports still open fine. 22 reports will not open. We made no security changes. The error they receive is:
This report can't be displayed
- Make sure that you have access to one of the following items:
- A unit in the reporting tree
- The report in the report library
Work with your administrator to determine if you have access.
Troubleshooting:
1. Added Everyone group to the Reporting Tree on the summary row and all unit rows in the MR Report Designer (note: The Reporting tree isn't the issue as some of the reports that fail use the same tree as some of the reports that still work. Also, we leave the tree wide open on security - we don't restrict it to anyone)
2. Recreated a report from scratch - it has the same issue
3. Added higher privileges (Maintain / Generate Reports)
- This allows users to open generated reports
- Interestingly, if a users opens a generated report once and then we remove the elevated privileges, they can continue to open that generated report but cannot open other generated reports of the same report definition
- We can't leave elevated privileges on permanently as a fix
4. Rebuilt the datamart - using "Reset Datamart" in the report designer
5. Restarted the Financial Reporting service in LCS
The page error is 403 forbidden:
Regarding the second part of the error, "The report in the report library" - my understanding is that report level security is no longer relevant in D365 and we have no control over that.
We have a premier ticket open with Microsoft support but that hasn't been fruitful for several days.
Anyone else see anything similar recently? Did Microsoft push Windows Server or SQL Server updates to the dynamics production servers last weekend?
