Cross Company Data Sharing - Data migration consideration

Posted on by 106
Hello everyone,

If we enable the Cross Company Data Sharing, does it mean that if we import the data into one legal entity, it will be replicated to other legal entities? Do we need to consider the performance impact during the data load?

Thanks,

    Hi,

We have done the import for suppliers and customers for almost 50 legal entities using this feature and it worked fine.

I think you're correct to think it will probably take more time than importing data to a single legal entity, after all the number of records being imported could be x2, x3, x20, etc. And Andre says, the number of legal entities is important. So is the data volume, number of records is important, I would test with some sample datasets to get an idea for the timings. 1 minute becoming 2 minutes is obviously much easier to work with than 2 hours becoming 4.

    Hi LB developer,

As Ramit mentioned, the data will be directly copied to other legal entities when you import data. The copy process is done on the SQL server, so should be fast. Can you tell us the number of legal entities, the number of records to import, and what tables will be involved?

    Hi,

Data import should work with CCDS framework, however in some cases, it might now. like vendor master, my advice is to test with one data and then proceed further.
