Action Step is missing in Business Process Flow in CRM 365 V9 on-premise

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All, I'm in CRM on-premise, 9.0. I'm trying to add an Action Step in my Business Process Flow, but this button is not available.

Does CRM on-premise 9.0 support Action Step in Business Process Flow?

    Hi Lu Hao,

Thank you for your reply, the issue on my environment is that the option "As a Business Process Flow action step" is not available in the action configuration.

    I am using this version:

    Is there anything missing?

    Hi Antoine,

By default, in the BPF editor of Dynamics 365 on-premises v9, we can only add the Step component.

If we want to add an Action Step, we can add an on-demand action to the business process flow.

The Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement apps version 9.0 update introduces a business process flow feature: business process flow automation with Action Steps. You can add a button to a business process flow that will trigger an action or workflow.

To enable this functionality, select As a Business Process Flow action step.

Next, the Action Step is added to Contoso’s opportunity business process flow. Then the process flow is validated and updated.

Please refer to this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/customize/create-business-process-flow#add-an-on-demand-action-to-a-business-process-flow

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Lu Hao
