Error in unit of amount in currency GBP. Must be rounded up to 0.01

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

There is an error with posting GBP invoices. I believe most of the errors have to do with the 'penny rounding issue' or some other setting with the way the GBP is setup. Has anybody faced any similar issues before? Any help is appreciated.

I read about it online and there were instances where people have talked about a hotfix solution for this issue. If someone has any information around the same, please share.

Old thread, but worth adding my two cents.

In my case, the rounding missing was on the sales tax code:

So i found what the issue was.

Apparently, the Freight Charges under Sell-> Charges were incorrect.

Our data is uploaded in the AX system through another external source. When these charges were uploaded, the value was 21.875 (value in the screenshot), which was showing up as 21.88.

All i had to do was to erase that and re enter 21.88 and then it worked.

The solution was given by our Consultant who back traced the transactions of the account 703300 (account int he screenshot), and that is when he realized that this is the Freight Charges Account.

This might be useful information in case someone runs into a similar error.

Thanks for all the help :)

Hi Nidhi, Seems to be a tricky problem. It seems that you already tried and tested everything in the AX client on the "surface". For that reason, I can only recommend you to sit down with a developer and debug the issue that you have. All the best, Ludwig

    I checked and double checked.

Everything has been set up properly.

The GL Parameters, the Currencies, the exchange rates, the accounts for automatic transactions, still it doesn't work.

I had a look at LCS as well as other blogs, but to no success.

    Still stuck! :(

Hi Nidhi, depending on how you setup your accounting and reporting currency you might get additional transactions on the penny differences and error accounts setup. Ludwig

I have already been through this link and my setup seems to be right. I don't know what the issue might be. Thank you. :)

Hi Ludwig, le me try doing that and see if it makes any difference.

But increasing the maximum penny difference won't affect the journal postings?

Hi Nuno, yes i did but couldn't really find anything there.

Can you point me to the KB articles and i will go and have a look at the same. Thanks. :)
