Chrome updated and attachments stopped working

Chrome was updated to "Version 72.0.3626.96 (Official Build) (64-bit)".

With this update users can no longer click on attached files on notes.

What happens is that the file download but in the file explorer, if a file is named " file1.png " then it shows as " 'file1.png' ". It has aphostrophs in the beginning and end which I tried to demonstrate. This results in an unknown file type in windows and the file cannot be opened. Well, if the user manually changes the filename and removes the aphostrophes then the file becomes openable but unfortunately, for many users this is sometimes an annoying and too difficult task..

Has anyone seen this behaviour? 

I mean, it does not necessarily feel Dynamics related but I have only seen it so far in Dynamics with the "attached files in notes" functionality...

    I have developed a free chrome plugin that resolve this issue. You can install it here:

    This plugin watches for files that start and end with ', removes the characters and suggests the file to be downloaded with the proper filename. Stores no data, all code runs locally on your computer.

    This is an issue related to that version of Chrome.
