Hi All,
We have started work on a project, wherein we have D365 Online. There are 2 sandbox instances for Dev & QA and another one for Prod.
Currently there are 5 developers involved in this project who would be working on customizations, plugins, JS developments and we work using our laptops and create separate solutions by component type. We do not use a VM currently, but the project wants to use TFS for version control and developer toolkit for development and deployment. So wanted to understand the below:
1) If TFS is introduced, would we need a VM to work off of ? and so what changes would we need to make to our development setup?
2) We are using plugin registration tool and solutions to register and deploy plugins to dev, and would use a package deployer to deploy to prod along with some config data. Do we need a VM if we use Developer toolkit and how would our current setup have to be modified to use it?
3) Can we do without the Developer toolkit? keep working with solutions and package deployer? are there any drawbacks to this approach?
Also, I've not used developer toolkit, so if anyone can share a link to tutorial or a document on the same, it would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.
