Redirected Printer issue ( Windows server 2008 R2)

Hello,

A Customer of ours has an issue with a redirected printer. This issue is only there when using a print preview. Everytime when he is connected to his remote desktop his local printer is redirected.
Hij is mostly working at home so that is the reason for a local USB printer.

The issue is that i can see that when hij tries to print a list and chooses to run a preview, Navision gives an error. It states that the printer cannot be found. Navision refers to a printer that was connected to port TS003. That port is now inactive. The printer is now connected to port TS007.
I already cleaned all the inactive ports on the server but with no succes.

Even with the inactive port TS003 gone and restart after restart Navision is still looking for the printer X, redirect 3 (TS003)

Everything else in Navion is working properly and printer is without a glitch. For normal printing Navion doesn't look to past printer but is always takes the default standard printer. In this case the redirected local printer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi AshwinK,

Thank you for posting your question.

This is certainly an interesting issue. My first thoughts are that the RDP session is being reused (for example through RemoteApp) and the TS003 port was active for the initial connection. Or TS is storing previous printer settings to reuse.

These are just ideas, but in order to provide a more solid suggestion it will require additional troubleshooting steps that are not available through Communities. I would suggest submitting a Support Request and a Support Engineer will be able to assist further.

Thank you for your patience on a response and have a great day!

    Scott
