Automatically Update an Opportunity Field based on Sales Stage

As we move through the sales process stages we would like to automatically update the "Opportunity Stages" to reflect the sales stage names. Can anyone suggest the easiest way to accomplish this task?

Thank you for the Query.

The legacy process-related attributes (such as StageId, and TraversedPath) on entities enabled for business process flows are now deprecated. The SetProcess action for business process flows is also deprecated. Manipulating these legacy process-related attributes for target entity records does not guarantee consistency of the business process flow state, and is not a supported scenario. The recommended way is to use the attributes of the business process flow entity.

Hi jbroyhill,

I would recommend you use the solution from the second link in Protim's answer, use workflow to achieve it.

Here are steps.

1.create a workflow.

2.add steps.

3.click Save and Active button.

4.Test.
