Field Service RSO (resource scheduling optimization) Avoid Toll Roads when calculating routes

In Field Service (RSO), is there anyway we could configure so that when RSO is calculating route to schedule a work order, it avoids toll roads? Like we can do in Google Maps/Waze etc.?

Thanks

Hi Dan, thanks for your reply, I will definitely look into alternative mapping provider which might work in this scenario.

Regarding routes in RSO, this client does not want to use toll roads and RSO estimates could be different to what techs are allowed to choose when selecting a route, hence there might be discrepancies when work order is complete.

Hope in the future MS will release something to select Avoid Toll Roads :)

Hi Abbas, to accomplish this you would need to change the underlying mapping provider as it is not supported with our of the box mapping. There is a developer focused doc here.

Some additional thoughts. RSO is used to plan the routes, and generally companies will not focus on avoiding toll roads since every minute of efficiency saved with technicians saves more money than the toll. (of course i only know of scenarios I have been exposed to so would love to learn more...)

Usually customers use RSO to plan the day, and when a tech get's in the car to start traveling they can use waze, google maps, whatever their routing software of choice is to get the turn by turn direction and can use the "avoid toll" filters in the app and make a decision at that point.
