Cal. Consumption function

Hi,

Was doing some testing on my systems for the manufacturing module, focusing on the Output/Consumption journal.

1. I posted some output via the output journal.

2. Tried using the consumption journal, using the calculate consumption and it worked the first time but I keyed in a negative entry -1 instead.

3. the next time i called the cal consumption function, it would not calculate new outputs.

How can i debug and fix this?

    Hi,

The calculate consumption calculates the quantities to consume based on Remaining quantity on production order components.

Checkout in production order line>components. If any component would having Remaining Qty > 0 then only it will show in consumption journal when you use calculate consumption function.

    Hi,

Please check whether you have Remaining Qty for the respective component.

    Hi Ishan,

I created a new production order and realized I didn't refresh the prod. order. However, now when i try to fill up my consumption, it says "You cannot post consumption for order no. 101005 because a quantity of 1 remains to be picked." I have no idea what that means.

You need to do create pick function (this function is require when your location is having pick require in location card - this is warehouse activity) . once pick document get created you need to register it and then try to post the consumption.

come to your original point, where you said that you have done negative consumption and system is not allowing you to do the further output. doing negative consumption will not affect the output if it is already done. to reverse the output you need to do the negative posting in output journal only. Negative consumption is for getting material back from production to store. it is recommended to do a apply entry from when do this to get exact cost reverse.
