Fixed Asset Master data import issues with Data Management

Hello,

It's been a challenge importing Fixed Asset Master data.

I have tried import through

1. "Fixed Assets" Entity

2. "Fixed Assets V2 entity" Entity.

I have 2 Environments. Cloud version is 10.0.19 and VHD is 10.0.17.

The issues I'm getting are these:

1. On VHD the Import job in data management runs successfully showing all records inserted but in FA master form none of those records are shown. The Fixed Asset Group numbers in number sequence also gets utilized. Note: The HotFix which is mentioned in other posts to resolve this, is not applicable after Version10.0.17 onwards.

2. On cloud I'm getting this error while trying to update the 2 records I have already created manually:

Results. Cannot execute the required database operation.
The SQL database has issued an error.
Object Server Azure:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server][SQL Server]UPDATE is not allowed because the statement
updates view "ASSETFIXEDASSETV2ENTITY" which participates in a join and has an INSTEAD OF UPDATE
trigger.

So I have couple of questions:

1. Is there a good blog or video that takes through the importing process. Because, GL, AP etc. imports were smooth. But FA is just too annoying.

2. Which entity do I have to use "Fixed Assets" or "Fixed Assets V2 Entity". What's the difference here?

Appreciate any tips.

Best Regards,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi MYGz ,

Please check the following thread in Microsoft community. There is a workaround by Microsoft that can be used  here.

To update in latest version, please follow the below workaround

Following is a workaround from Microsoft by switching off set-based processing for this entity (ref. case 519219):

    • Go to Data Management > Data Entities

    • Select the entity

    • Switch on edit mode

    • Switch off set-based processing for the entity.

    I hope it helps,

Thank you all. I will test it and come back. Right now, I managed with Excel Add-In but to be able to create a data package and import in bulk from UAT to Prod, need to make the DIEF work.

Thanks you all for your inputs.

Ramit Paul Switching off the set based transfer worked. Now the FA FA masters are imported and visible in the form.
