Log in Issue - "You are not a member of this organization"

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

One of my users has a problem when connecting to his Dyamics account.

Once he types his password, he gets a message saying (I am translating the message I have in French, I am not sure this would be the message I would have in English) :

"You are not a member of this organisation.

You (mail@xxx.com) are not part of the organisation XXX. Check the name of the organisation and try to connect again"

The user seems to think it happens right after he deleted his cookies. But I have the same problem when I try to connect with his login/password with my computer.

Do you have any idea what should I do?

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

It has the same one that all the other users.

==> I found the solution. When connecting, all my user weirldy have to choose between 2 versions of their account.

    - One "Created by your administrator" or something like that

    - One "Created by you"

The user who had the problem was stuck with the 2nd version that did not work. I just had to delete his cookies, choose the 1st version and it worked.

If anyone understands better than me what happened, please do not hesitate!

@Ben : Thank you very much for your help!

2 and 3 is irrelevant if the user is on the list of active users so you need to check that the user has a security role...

1- The user is in the list

2- In French, I do not see anything called a "Security Group". Maybe you are refering to what they call a "Role". In that case, that user has the same Role that he always had. And the other users with the same role (all my users have the same role) are able to login perfectly.

3- The user is here and has a licence.

    In which case:-

    1)  check he has an active account within the Dynamics 365 instance (Settings -> Security -> User Accounts) and if the account is there that it has a security role

    2) check if there is a security group against the instance in the Dynasmics 365 instance administration screens and if there is that the user is a member of that security group.

    3) check the office 365 admin screens to ensure the user has an active Office 365 account and a Dynamics 365 licence

Is your instance online or on-premise and what software is it (AX, CRM / CE)....
