Ribbon workbench not allowing me to hide a button

Hello there,

I am working on Dynamics 365 cloud environment where I tried to edit the ribbon using ribbon workbench. Some of the buttons in the solution appear with a red tick mark at the end. When I try to right click one of them in form (out of the 3 areas homepage, subgrid, form, my button is in form area), it does not give me an option called hide when I right click. I only see "copy, paste, customize button, customize command, delete" options available and only copy, customize command and delete options are enabled. I do not see hide option at all. Why would that be? Please help.

Thanks.

In order to rename OOB button you need to customize it which will then show "uncustomize" option under the context menu. The hide option is only available for OOB cause those the in built buttons.

The easiest option is to delete it and if you are concerned that you will lose the customizations then you can export the soution back up. If you still want to hide it using enable rule, you can check the below blog, basically the idea is to hide in for condition which will always be true

    Hope this helps.

Well may be it was called "Create Child Case" and it might have been renamed to "Create Child Service Request" but the button must be OOB. Is there a way to add a rule to permanently hide it without deleting it?

    Hi,

I am not aware of any out of box button called "Create Child Service Request". This must be a custom button and as I mentioned above, for custom buttons you won't get the hide options. You need to completely delete the button.

Thanks for the reply.  I am trying to hide out of button, "Create Child Service Request". But when I right click there is no way to uncustomize it. Where can I see what custimazions are done so far?

    Hi,

If I am not wrong, the buttons with Red mark are the once which are customized and once the button is customized theoption to hide won't be visible which make sence cause you won't customize a button and hide it. If you want to hide the button then you need to uncustomize it (for oob button) or delete it (for custom buttons).

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Share the screen here. Please also try to elaborate the question, such as system entities or custom entities?
