Dual Write Error: Unable to Create New Product/Released Product after Sync via Dual Write

Hi Experts,

I'd like to ask for some guidance, for the Unified Product Experience.
I can maintain existing FO Released Product > DV Products information just fine.
The problem is no new Released Product can be created, whether via releasing from Product, or directly create in Released Product.

Details as below:

Error:

1. Cannot release from Product, from error I think because it does not have Default Unit. However the Product form does not have any field to default the unit.

(error in the Open Product Releases page, with error:
Unable to write data to entity products.Writes to EcoResReleasedDistinctProductDVEntity failed with error message Request failed with status code BadRequest and CDS error code : 0x80040265 response message: No default unit set. The product default unit group cannot be defaulted. For integration scenarios (like Dual Write), please make sure that a valid unit ID is mapped to the default unit for this product. The default unit and default unit group columnd are mandatory..for information on troulbleshooting see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2244045. Activitiy ID for troubleshooting {redacted}For information on troubleshooting see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2244045..)

2. Cannot create directly in the Released Product form. The error indicate that (since it is a new product) the Product Number is missing.

(error in the Released Product page, with error:
Unable to write data to entity products. Writes to EcoResReleasedDistinctProductDVEntity failed with error message Request Failed with status code BadRequest and CDS error code : 0x80040265 resonse message: product must have msdyn_productnumber filled. For information on troubleshooting see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/? linkid=2244045. Activity ID for troubleshooting [redacted] For information on troubleshooting see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2244045)

Setup:

1. I used the provided Solutions, in other word, I did not map the entities from scratch.
I stopped Released Producs V2, and CDS Released Distinct Products, and running the newer DV released distinct products, and DV released products instead, preparing for the price sync.

Questions:

1. Is there any customized mapping to be done, on top of the provided solution mapping? Am I missing something?
2. Is it the same case as Contacts V2 limitation, that to we can only create a new FO Contact from the parent entities (Customer/Vendor > Add Contact). If so where should a new product be created?

Please advice, thank you.

Did you manage to solve this matter?

    Hi,

From the first screenshot, the error seems related to Units. Please make sure all Unit dual‑write entities are fully synced (there are normally three of them two are UMO, units and one more)
    .
Also, in CRM, there is a setting where you can select the default units.
You can find it on the CRM Product form → Finance and Operations section → Units (exact path I can't recall as I don’t have access right now).

@ML-15121257-0 We made some progress (see below), but the errors is not fully fixed. Thank you for the follow up.

@Sagar121 Allow me to follow through your point, one at a time.

    1. Unit-related entities are all sync, data seems to be equal on both FO and Dataverse side.

    2. Default Unit suggestion is what solve the first error, I believe. Thank you so much for pointing this.
I intend to manage all product only on the FO side, so I search around where can we set Default Unit.

I believe it's this one for FO side.

So, a unit is defaulted here:

Now the Default Unit error is gone. A new error is populated though, regarding Product Number.
This is similar to the second error in the original post, when a Released Product creation is attempted.
It's quite baffling to me, since the Product Number is right there when the product is created.

I try playing around with Number Sequence here, but that does not solve the Product Number error.

    Any suggestion is welcome.

    Thank you.
