Email template formatting issue with D365 New look

Hi there,

We have an issue with Email templates recently.

User created an email template a while ago and chose to use 'New Look' recently.

The email looks fine when opened in the Email template section, but when opened in the email section to send an email, the format is all weird (incorrect font, unnecessary table borders etc. appear)

Has anyone else faced this issue? Is there a solution for this?

Appreciate any input on this.

Hi,

Do you mean that the formatting of the email template is not automatically applied after adding the email template?

This happens in both the old and the new UI.

I'm having the exact same issue with the new look and have had to revert the whole business to the old look.

The email template designer features which are only intended for template editing (such as exaggerated highlighting of table borders) are actually being delivered to customers, resulting in awfully formatted emails.

This happens consistently for emails sent by users using the "new look" Dynamics (all email platforms receive the same broken HTLM formatting), whereas the exact same emails sent using the "old look" are formatted and received correctly.

Hi Dengliang Li,

As Daniel mentioned the whole formatting goes crazy.

Ex:

1) Email sent using the Template in Old look,

2) Email sent using New look using SAME template as earlier, it adds random boxes and borders and on few templates adds background colour too.

Hello,

I'm having the same issue as well. Formatting is not working with the new look at all. I don't have old email templates in my environment and the issue doesn't occur with the default templates. However, when I create new template and add it to an email, it looks like this with the new look on:

And like this without the new look (random grey border):

When selecting the template, the preview looks normal and as expected:

Hi @Gowtham. Did you ever get any clarity on this? We are running into the same issue and can't seem to find any fixes. Users are reverting back to the old look so their templates are formatted correctly. What's odd is some templates are fine in the new look. We tried creating new templates, checked our settings, different browser, etc. and can't figure it out.

No, no luck with resolving it.

We too reverted back to old look and praying it gets resolved by Microsoft.

Have there been any updates to this issue. I'm also experiencing similar behaviour when rendering emails with the 'New Look'.

Update on this issue:

I contacted Microsoft, and they know the issue and the fix is being shipped soon to Australia. (This is what Microsoft told me).
