Posted on by 187

Hi,

Is the Dynamics app for Outlook available for users who only have a licence for the Marketing app and not the Customer Engagement Plan?

Thanks

    Hi Kelly,

    To enable App for Outlook, Server-side synchronization should be configured;

to configure Server-side synchronization, Exchange online is needed and required to included in license.

You could view detailed license items of users who only have marketing license to check whether they have this option, once it exists in license, these users would be able to use too.

In Microsoft 365 admin center, navigate to Users > Active users, edit the users who only have marketing license.

    thanks for your reply.

We have 5 licences on the Customer Engagement plan, so we do have the app. However we have users who will only have a licence on Marketing and not CE, will they be able to use the outlook app?

    RE: Dynamics app for Outlook

    Hi Kelly,

As the requirements said in doc:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/outlook-app/deploy-dynamics-365-app-for-outlook#requirements

    3515.png

So a Customer Engagement app is required to have Dynamics 365 App for Outlook.

    In a more intuitive description,

    > Custom Engagement app should be published along with Marketing application on App Home Page

    1423.png

    > You can enable Server-side synchronization in settings to send sales(or activity email) emails.

Then you shall see the menu in Settings > System:

In addition, Marketing email in Marketing application is different from sales email in CE, it is sent by other back-end engine compared with sales email, and if you track it with Dynamics 365 App for Outlook, it will be transfered to sales email.

    Regards,

    Clofly
