dear all

I have some workflows which create or update cases, my problem is that cases are created under my name (owner=my name) , i could fix this for some of them by modifying the "Options for Automatic Processes" , but most of the workflows they dont have this option to modify it.

please advise.

thanks,

    Hi,

then go for real time worfklow, but the best practices would always set owner of the workflow as crm admin which i agreed with Ravi, because this user will not get deactivate. You never knew that one day you will leave the organization.

    thanks a lot

but regarding your idea, in my situation, all cases will be owned by the workflow oner (which is in this case the administrator), and thus reporting for cases will be impacted.

    Hi Ahmad,

You get the option to select the owner as the user performing the operation but this is only there for real time workflows. For background, the workflow will run under the context of the owner of the workflow. I dont think this can be changed.

I still believe changing the owner to some service user is the best way to go for it :)

    Hope this helps

thanks Sir, but this may impact the performance, is there any other way to make sure each ticket is created with the right owner (the one who performs the action no the admin user)?

    thanks,

    Hi Ahmad,

It is always recommended to change the workflow owner to either a service user or admin user. This not only avoids the issue you are faing but also avoid failure in future if you left the company or your account is disable.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

you have to set the workflow as real time workflow and set the execute as "the user who made the changes to the record". There is a button located on the top. "Convert to a real time workflow".
