Hi,

I use for example the contact entity for multiple groups (customers contacts and candidates (recruitment)), I have designed multiple forms and views fitting with the group. I have insert these groups in the sitemap.

Example:

Candidates
Candidates (entity contacts)

Customers
Customers (entity contacts)

Is there a way the set the default view and form? So for example when you click on candidates dynamics will give the candidates view.

Thanks.

Regards,

Rory

    Hi ,

You can open form according to security roles. Following link might help you

    docs.microsoft.com/.../assign-security-roles-form

Mark answer as verified, if it is feasible for you

    Hi Rory,

Unfortunately, it is impossible to set different default views and forms for different areas within the site map.

We can only choose the security role visible to different forms, but this method is not suitable for your scenario.

    Hi Rory,

I believe I've managed to do this at least in UCI. I went to the sitemap and changed it to:

    pastedimage1581708527571v1.png

    Being the url:

    /main.aspx?pagetype=entitylist&etn=account&viewid={61273827-328E-E011-95AE-00155D9CFA03}

Of course you need to change to contact and replace the guid with yours view's id.

Now, when you click on any record a form will open and inside that form, you can add a javascript onload event. In that function you will check if the record is a candidate or a customer.

based on that criteria you can:

view all forms you have available:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/model-driven-apps/clientapi/reference/formcontext-ui-formselector

and finally navigate to which one you want:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/model-driven-apps/clientapi/reference/formcontext-ui-formselector/navigate

    hope it helps!

    Hello Rory,

    Greetings of the day!

In regards to your concern, You will need to set only one default view,

    Steps to set default view:
1.Go to settings -> Customization -> Customize the system
2.Expand entity from components -> Click on views
3.From list of views select your view & click on "More Actions" -> "Set Default"

Also, kindly find the Reference link for set default form: https://carldesouza.com/set-default-form-order-dynamics-365/

I hope it helps! Let me know in case of any other concern.

    Kind Regards,

    CRMjetty
