Converting a Lead to a Contact - Missing Notes

(0) ShareShare

When converting a lead to a contact in Dynamics 365, certain information from the Lead is automatically transferred into the new Contact.  However, the notes captured within the Lead doesn't appear to be one of the data elements that is copied over.  Is this normal OOB behavior, and if so, are others having to customize the system in order to copy the notes over, or how are you overcoming this challenge?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

This is how OOB works. There are multiple ways on how you can copy that data to contact but the easiest way is to compose the Flow that will do that for you. Check this post - www.crminnovation.com/.../

    Hi,

When salespeople work on a lead, they use notes to store key information on the things they have researched about the lead. This could be information like new contacts at the site, current value of the contract, vendor information and so on. When a lead is qualified, these notes are displayed in the Opportunity record so that the information is not lost. For more information. Please refer to the below blog:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/sales-enterprise/qualify-lead-convert-opportunity-sales

Suppose I create a note on the Lead as shown below in the screenshot:

    4th-dec.jpg

After qualifying you can see that notes are attached in the opportunity as shown below in the screenshot:

    4th-dec-2.jpg

Also can make the changes or create the flow to achieve your goal. Please refer below blog for the same.

    Hope this helps.
