Hi All, I'm writing a spec to customize a report. I need to provide the field names or table names. In AX, to get to the AOT, I do CTRL + D. How do I get into AOT in D365? Thanks.
If you have developer VM , open visual studio on it , go to view menu and click on Application explorer or ctrl+E. On the left side you are going to see AOT like structure.
Hi Kim,
In addition to what Sukrut mentioned, Assuming the data you need on the report is already on some form that you can access via UI. You can just right click on the form > form information > form information. Expand Administration - DataSource and Data Field can provide you the table / field name.
Thank you, Satish. This is really helpful!
Hi Sukrut,
Does visual studio access go with the D365 licensing? Thanks!
For Visual studio, you need to have access to developer VM. Visual Studio licensing is separate than D365 licensing.
You need access to developer VM to log in to visual studio.
