how to setup 10% discount coupons of total bill amount above Rs 1000 to be redeem at POS.

Hi Everyone

I am with the scenario that I need to configure 5000 discount coupons and each would be of 10% of total bill amount but customer can avail only on buying of Rs 1000 and above.

Dynamics Ax Version : AX 2012 R2

CU: Cumulative Update 1 6.2.1000.156

Hi Shahzaid,

I dont think you can configure this kind of discount in the Retail periodic discount.

You can configure this in the Trade agreement but it wont work as a discount coupon.

I guess you will have to customize to achieve this requirement.

Hi Sumit,

similar scenario is described in documentation of Call Center, Ax2012 R3 (set coupon; add coupon to SO). One of the parameters in the coupon card is Origin with 3 options: None, Web, Store. Can I use it in AxPOS?

I tested to set new coupon and used it in SO. The coupon amount (discount) was applied as misc.charge in my SO. My coupon is "one time use" but I see no differences in coupon card after using it.

I would like to get more info how to work with coupons. A short TechNet documentation of the topic contains no examples. Any links to useful posts/blog will be appreciated.

Hi Galia,

Shahzaid has specified the Dynamics Ax Version : AX 2012 R2 where this Retail discount cannot be achieved. But when you are working on AX 2012 R3 then you can use the new Retail periodic discount i.e Threshold discount to achieve this.

Hi Sumit,

The problem is not how to set discount but how to set many individual vouchers (coupons), each of them with unique code. Vouchers/coupon can be used only once.

Discount offers (incl. Threshold disc.) in Ax2012R3 can have Discount code with barcode but this code can be used in many sales.

Another aspect of the issue is setup of rules for issuing vouchers. For example my customer (retailer) has an offer:

"Buy 2 items from TV category now and get voucher for the next sales of 5 % discount for items in DVD player category."

My customer wants to track where and when the voucher is issued and where and when is used.

We had to create this functionality from scratch for our POS environment. quite a bit of customization on POS to handle this with different rules and voucher validations. We ended up creating a separate database (outside of AX) to store the voucher codes and information. It was quite a lot of work on the POS customization to get the discounting exactly the way we needed it, as well as setting up the new tender type in AX to accommodate this in POS.
