Error Debugging Custom Workflow Activities In CRM 365 Online

Hi All,

Is it possible to debug Custom Workflow Activities for 365 Online ?

I've registered the workflow assembly, and installed the Plugin profiler, but when I try to Profile workflow, and select the Custom workflow, I get the below error, even though the Plugin assembly is registered successfully and I've also been able to execute the custom workflow step using a On demand Workflow.  So if you can help me understand if it is possible to use the Plugin registration tool for debugging Custom Workflow for 365 Online ? or do we have to use Trace ?

    Thanks Ben for your response.

As you said I need to use trace for Online plugins and custom workflows, but, I'm able to debug plugins(at least the sync ones) using the Debug tool, so no problems there.

It is only when I try to debug the workflow that I'm facing this error. So did you mean that in CRM online we need to use trace for :

    1) Custom workflow activities ?

    2) Async Plugins ?

    Thanks

Online you need to use the tracing service to debug plugins and custom workflow activities. Just add the appropriate lines to your code (enough that you can identify how the code goes wrong).  And don't forget to enable tracing in the Customisation section of settings.
