There is no one single approach for all.

There are guidelines and every customer advisor must evaluate various factors/variables/goals to derive a few and then choose the best amongst them.

I had suggested some options in an implementation book on D365FO, here is link if you are interested.

    Hi Shri,

There is a FastTrack program which will help customers during the implementation phase: docs.microsoft.com/.../fasttrack-dynamics-365-overview

    Thanks Andre!

I have gone through the link provided by you.Under implementation methodologies , it is showing LCS ->methodologies which includes basically phase like analyse, design, test, deploy, etc.

I want to prepare document/ppt kind of thing where i can mention what are approaches/strategy if i want to roll out the D365 cloud in other countries.what things should be consider during roll out/what is the best approach, etc.

Currently i am not getting how the roll out is being carried out in cloud. Do we have to follow specific steps which diereses with rollout implementation? Can you pls help to shed some light on this.

    Thanks,

    Shri

I recommend having someone in your team who already has experience of AX/D365FO rollouts. It requires experience that you will not get by asking on the forums.

look for CRP approach and then carefully craft.

    Thanks Nikolaos and Rahul!

As per my knowledge, after implementing base system in one country, we have to think about localization features, language preferences in application while doing roll out in other country.

In D365 we upload the DB on cloud and then MS take care of rest of the process when we go live. Is roll out differs from this process?

I am asking this because i didn't get any reference for doing roll out in multi countries.

Even i checked with my team but no one yet had prepared such doc , moreover D365 is completely different so no one is much sure about the process.

    Thanks,

    Shri

There are lots of thoughts and options, which is why there is no one size fits all approach. As an example your initial base implementation could be considered the "master" and you do quick turn analysis for local regulatory changes. If there are process changes why do these diverge from the central approach etc. Then there is "who" is doing this, is it internal or is the partner assisting or doing it all.  Is the roll out a company within or a separate instance? Copy company would help if you had a core build with no transactions as an example, you can build into Production the new LE's, but you are live, so you need to be careful :-)

In summary the process splinters depends upon many requirements, no one approach fits all, the onus is on you to plan the approach in agreement with the customer.

If you mean from purely technical point of view, you:

    1) Identify functional requirements

    2) Develop the features that you need

    3) Deploy the modifications

    4) You import master data that you need

    5) You add users to the system

    6) Users start using the system

This process is the same no matter if you use the system only in one country, or roll out to multiple countries. So just repeat these steps for each country. And this process is practically the same for older AX versions and D365FO.

    Thanks Nikolaos!

So you mean suppose if I did go live in d365 cloud for Singapore country. After that when i will have to do roll out in Malaysia, first i will follow same steps (as mentioned above) and then will provide the new production database(which will contain same objects for both the country)  to microsoft  for upload on cloud?

    Thanks,

    Shri

No, you will not provide any production databases for Microsoft to upload. The only scenario where you would do that would be before the first golive (this case Singapore), when you can ask Microsoft to copy your Golden configuration database to prod. Or, if you are upgrading from AX2012, they would copy the upgraded database to D365FO prod system.

You already have a production database since you went live in Singapore. Then you create new D365FO company (legal entity) in that same system and migrate master data there. Then your Malaysia users start using the same system (which has the same database).

I really really recommend your company would buy some expert help to help you in the rollouts.
