I have an On-Prem version of NAV2015, we are moving our operation to a new company. Is there a quick and easy way to make the old company read only for all users with their current permission sets.

Don't think there is an easy way. You need to remove insert, modify, delete permission from current permission.

You might consider looking at an Addon for NAV called Easy Security. They have much more flexibility on permissions. Here is a link:

Hi, As several experts mentioned above, there is no easy way in NAV 2015.
All we can do is restrict users from accessing the old company.
For example,
PS: Some new info: Maybe in BC19.1, we can do Exclude in the system.
