EDT not found or cannot be loaded

I'm running into the issue of EDT not found or cannot be loaded Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Xpp.InternalException for a specified field on a specified table in dynamics 365. These edts are custom from the model I imported and the errors are popping up for both custom and base fields.

I received this error after importing an ax model into my VM. I have tried to delete and re-add the edt, delete the edt from the specific field and sync, and attempted multiple builds. I don't believe that my references are off.

Has this happened to anyone else?

    Hi kaz3594,

Can you tell us more about your problem ? Did you use extension or overlaying to add new fields to a table, does EDT belongs to same model as new fields ?

    Hi Ievgen,

I'm in the process of converting overlayered code to extensions. I removed some of the edts from the original tables and added them to the extended versions of the tables. Others are on the custom tables that were included in the model import. They are all in the same model, a custom model that is a part of the application suite package.

You are saying that you have EDT, that belongs to overlayed Application Suite. Previously you had new filed in same overlayed Application Suite using it, but now you deleted it and created same field in extension model and try to use same EDT that still belongs to Application Suite ?

If I got you right I have 2 questions:

    • Does extension model have a reference to Application Suite ?
    • Did you do full build of all models ?

So I have about 10 edts that are erroring out right now. All of them are custom edts that were previously created in the model that I imported into my environment. Not all of the custom edts are erroring out, just seems to be a select few. I have tried deleting and then recreating one of the edts.

Yes, my model does have a reference to application suite.

I also have completed full builds of all of the models in visual studios. After compiling everything, I usually do a full sync and still get the EDT not found or cannot be loaded error.

My first post now has a screenshot of the error from a full synchronize.

It's still not clear for me. That import model belongs to App Suite package  or not and extended fields, what model\package they belong  to ?

All of it belongs to the Application Suite package. The model is a custom model that belongs to the Application Suite package.

    Hi,

got a similar error at sync.

Can anybody advice how you did resolve this error.

    History:

I was moving a table field from overlayering to extension.
Nothing special, just deleted it in the table and created an extension with same name and same EDT.

(so i didn´t do any modifacation to the EDT at all)

Would be nice if you could point me in the right direction.

    Best Regards

    Andreas
