What is the difference between Attachments and Incoming Documents in NAV?

Dear Community,
 
May I know what is the difference between attachments and incoming documents ?
 
In which scenario is better to use Attachments, and which is better to use Incoming Documents ?

    One difference in the UI is that attachments are available and used on documents/cards (i.e. sales orders, purchase orders, vendor card) and incoming documents are used on journals (i.e. general journal) and ledger entries. It really depends on what page you're adding the attachment as most of the time only one of the options will be available.

    Hi, First of all, from the developer's perspective, their tables and management methods are different.
    Incoming Document (table 130), not Document Attachment (table 1173).
     
    In addition, Document Attachment can only be used for attachment functions, but Incoming Document can be used for more complex scenarios, such as OCR feature.
