Export to Excel wrong file type

Posted on by

When I try to export to Excel, the file is export as " 'Contact Advanced Find.xlsx' ". Therefore, since the file type is XLSX', excel cannot open the file. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I've written and released a Chrome plugin available on the Extensions store that solves this issue automatically:

    Hi Stefan,

This is a known issue in the latest version of Google Chrome (v72).

Please refer to this post: https://www.crmug.com/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?GroupId=1285&MessageKey=32d6fdee-25b4-4a91-9e1b-34cb7c6549ab&CommunityKey=dc83c23b-ede0-4070-ae7a-dd90859148a6&tab=digestviewer&ReturnUrl=%2fparticipate%2fdiscussion-forum

The solution is to use a lower version of Google Chrome, or other browsers such as Edge, IE, Firefox.

There have been several bugs in using D365 on the latest version of Google Chrome. Therefore, we recommend that you do not use the latest version of Google Chrome for a while, and wait for Google Chrome to fix these bugs before using it.

    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Lu Hao

I think it's a Chrome issue. If I export a solution the resulting zip file is also with quotes. This is since this week.

    Stefan,

Yes, I work in Chrome. Last week, the file type downloaded without an issue. The issue does not occur in IE.

    Hi Carter,

    Do you work in Chrome?

Does it occur in Edge and Firefox as well?
