I've been having problems importing product variants, I'm hoping to see if anyone could provide some insight to find a solution. I'm fairly new to importing lots of data so my guess is that I missed a step, did imports out of order or missed an important value somewhere.
I started importing released products using the Product entity, this caused no problems at the time. I included the following fields in the import:
EcoResProductTranslation_LanguageId, EcoResProductTranslation_Name, ItemId, ProductSubType, ProductType, DisplayProductNumber, VariantConfigurationTechnology, RetailColorGroupId, RetailStyleGroupId, RetailSizeGroupId, EcoResProductDimensionGroup_Name, EcoResStorageDimensionGroup_Name, EcoResTrackingDimensionGroup_Name, ItemGroupId, PurchModel, SearchName, PrimaryVendorId, CostModel, UseAltItemId, AltItemId, OrigCountryRegionId, StandardInventStyleId, ABCRevenue, ModelGroupId, ItemBuyerGroupId, StandardInventColorId, StandardInventSizeId, NameAlias.
Later we noticed that even though StandardInventColorId, StandardInventSizeId and StandardInventStyleId showed values in the released product form no product variant had been created. I then tried using the Variant entity to add values and included the following fields in the import:
DisplayProductNumber, EcoResProductTranslation_LanguageId, EcoResProductTranslation_Name, ItemId, RetailVariantId, InventColorId, InventConfigId, InventSizeId, EcoResProductTranslation_Description, SearchName, InventStyleId.
Once the import was done I got a prompt saying only a small subset of all the variants had been imported and to check for errors or warnings. The errors tell me some records already exist.
