New label language not recognized in report layout (free text invoice) AX2012R3CU13

For my client I was asked to make a customized report layout available for different languages.

This report layout has a couple of labels in it from a label file created by the customer. In the label editor I have added the transactions to the file, however this didn't show up in the report (only english language for these custom labels was shown, for the system labels the other languages was shown).

It turned out the label file was only created in nl, en-gb, en-us. So it made sense the labels did not show another language.

In the label folder I did find the translated values in the ald files, so I imported the new languages to the label file (AOT > Label File > right click > Import file) After the import i tried to run the report again but no luck. (executed restart AOS, restart report service, CIL compilation after each change)

After this didn't work I create a completly new label file through the label file wizard, all languages are available. I added the labels of the report to the file, with the translations and changed the report layout to point to the new label. But still it only shows the labels in the english language.

After this I added a random field with a random text to the layout but this wasn't shown also.

What steps am I missing to have a change to a SSRS report 'activated'?

Thanks in advance!

    HI Aartserp,

Can you check if there is a line with coding in your report which changes the language based on the language set in the free-text invoice?

Hi André, Thank you for your suggestion.

Yesterday I continued testing with the report and trying what could be the issue. I haven't found it yet, But I did managed to see the labels in the new languages on a different layout.

A couple of years ago a new layout was made (lets say Layout1), this was only used in the English layout but had some of the custom labels in it.

Now I created a new layout for another country (lets say Layout2), i am using the same labels but they are always showing in the english language (system default i think is nl, but company default maybe english). Except for the sys labels, they do show in the customers language (fr).

I couldn't find any code in the report where it is taking the company language for specific labels, but maybe I don't know where to look for this very specific code.

What I am going to try next is creating a copy of Layout1 and see if it works from there.

A new / copy layout from the custom layout that did work also shows the labels in the new languages.

It really looks like the layout i tried to get working is somehow corrupt. I tried to deploy it from visual studio, from Dynamics itself, and with the Publish-AXReport cmdlet function.

    All without result.

But since I have spend enough time figuring out why I'm afraid this will always stay a mystery, I will continue with the testing and release of the copied layout that does work.

Thanks for taking the time to read my situation and help search for a solution.
