Direct PowerBi Dashboard Menue Integration

Hello community,
right now i`m working for one of my customers who asked me, to directly integrate one of his existing Power BI Dashboards into the menue on the left side of Dynamics 365 Sales App.
Nothing easier than that, i thought ;) I opened my solution, opened the CRM App and added the Power BI Dashboard directly to the menu as a new entry:

Inside the App Designer everything looks fine. But when you start the CRM App as a user and you have set a custom Dashboard as default, you can klick on the new menue entry for the Power BI Dashboard, but it will not be shown. Instead of that, your personal set default dashboard will be shown !

After that i opened the classic App designer and it looks like this:

So i changed the entry like this to root directly to the power Bi Dashboard: "/main.aspx?pagetype=dashboards&id=ffac8df7-45c1-f011-bbd3-xxxxxxxxxxxx"
But i did not work ether.

Does anybody have an idea how i can fix that ?

Greetings from germany
Markus

    Hello,

A clean alternative is to use a custom Page added to the App navigation instead of a dashboard menu entry.

    The steps:

    1. Create a canvas app custom Page and add a Power BI tile control pointing to your Power BI dashboard. Publish the page.

    2. Add the custom Page to your App module navigation as a menu entry.  Ensure that "Show In Navigation" option is checked.

    3. Users land directly on it when clicking the menu item, regardless of any personal dashboard default.

Please keep in mind this works best when the goal of this menu entry is to always land on one specific Power BI dashboard , think of it as a dedicated shortcut to that report, not a replacement for the general dashboard switcher.
