On our account's timeline in the UCI, a custom activity entity has been added. This shows account-related information, but not all items on the timelines are related to the account the user is viewing. Is there any way to force the timeline to load only related items (as you can with a subgrid), or is something wrong with the custom entity's configuration for this to happen?
By going to account form editor, you can select what 'Activity types' you want to show on account timeline
As the results on the timeline were inaccurate, I was asked to remove those specific items from the timelines. I can add them back for trouble shooting, but not during working hours, so I'll try to do that tonight or maybe early tomorrow morning before my coworkers start.
Sounds unbelievable. Timeline has to show all the activity records which has the Account (or any Activity enabled entity) chosen as Regarding field.
If you see otherwise then either a platform bug or you have Rollup view enabled for Account/Contacts activities.
Can you confirm the activities regarding field is somehow related to that Account. Share the screenshot too.
