How to prevent completing tasks from homegrid?

I need to prevent completing tasks from homegrid. I can't hide or customize button "Mark Complete" for all activities because I need it only for tasks. I was thinking about a plugin on "UpdateMultiple" but it doesn't work for task or activity entity. The only solution I see is to create custom "Mark Complete" for all activities but I don't want to go this way. So maybe there are any other ideas?
