Plugin Assemblies taking a while to reflect changes when imported as Managed Solution

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

We're using Dynamics 365 v9 for development from past 7-8 months. We do our changes on lower environment which is unmanaged. And these changes are imported to our Managed instance.

Lately we've started seeing this behavior in our Managed instance. The assemblies take a while to reflect the changes. Then we re-import the solution or wait for sometime (variable timings) for it start reflecting latest changes.

has anyone observed similar behavior in v9 for Dynamics 365?

    Hi Meet,

This problem may be due to unmanaged customisations made to the managed layer. If unmanaged customisation have been made, then importing a managed solution will not update all changes straight away unless the overwrite option is selected when importing the managed solution.

Your other option is to import the changes in an unmanaged solution, but it sounds like you only want managed solutions in the target instance.
