How to change product family in existing product

I created products, and only after those I created a product family. Then I went to one product to be added to that product family - but the product family -fields had a lock in it.

So how can I change the the value of that field (or in this case, add there a value)?

I have the system admin rights (currently setting up the environment), so I should have correct privileges. If not, I can probably add them - but from where do I control the permissions for that particular field?

So basically, how can I remove a lock from certain form, in this case the product -form and there from product family -field? Or where do I control which type of user can edit that field?

You have to recreate the product, you cant update from existing product. You can refer to below post for more information.
