Starting February 1, 2021 all Microsoft managed Sandbox: Develop & Test environments will be decommissioned. Any existing or new Develop & Test environments will need to be deployed using Cloud Hosted Environments.

Hi All,

we have two customers that we have not yet backed up there models from dev enviornment and we can not access it due to its decommissioned. any one knows how can we get the models ? our models are local not connected to Devops.

Hi Mohammad Deeb,

As per the mail we got from Microsoft yesterday, only they will be able to restart the deallocated virtual machines. You should reach out to MS get these environments restarted so that you can retrieve the models.

Hi,

you should always use source control, otherwise you might lose your code if your dev system gets corrupted (or removed).

Also Microsoft announced well in advance that the RDP connection to MS hosted Tier1 systems will be removed. And now, they are finally removing those systems.

So, I see two important lessons here, which you should take, in order to make your life easier in the future:

- Always use source control!

- Always read announcements from Microsoft (especially the ones that they send to you via email!) so that you can react to changes that they are making.

If MS has already removed your dev system, then I don't think that you can salvage anything from it. If it's not yet removed, you could file a support case and see if they can help you.

the environment is still in deallocated state but i can not start it, so i will open a ticket with MS to just start so i take all the models backup.
