Data agnostic testing using the Regression Suite Automation Tool

Hi ,

By taking a look on the URL below, I was under the impression that we if change the 'default view/edit mode' I can make the task recorder data agnostic and vice versa.

I tried both modes and in either cases the test script tasks didn't change. I would like to see where it says

  1. In the Customer account field, type a value.   to mention the value like
  2. In the Customer account field, type a value '09'

by using Annotations this will require additional steps, which I am trying to avoid. Otherwise Do I need to look for ISV?

    Hello Sam,

Do you mean when you set Default view/edit mode as Edit or View, the scripts for cases of "new customer" are no difference.

According to to the official document, we should Always set the Edit mode of the environment to Read or Edit as the first test case because the default option is Auto. The Auto options always uses the previous setting and can cause unreliable tests.

And the "Edit/view mode" is for the customers list page, not the "create customer" form, which should be in Edit mode.

Please let me know if there is any misunderstanding.

could use either of READ or EDIT mode

this is what official docs suggest

"Always set the Edit mode of the environment to Read or Edit "
