Hi,
Is MS Dynamics CRM 2016 for Outlook 8.0.0000.1088 compatible with Dynamics 2016 8.2? Will it work? I have to many clients to be updated, if it is not compatible :-).

It might help to review the "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 for Outlook Client Installation"

Hello,
It all depends on the full build version of Dynamics 2016. Anything 8.2.2.137 and beyond utilizes TLS 1.2 and Outlook Client 8.0.0.1088 uses TLS 1.2.
So if your Dynamics server is under 8.2.2.2.137 then 8.0 will be fine. If it is greater, the 8.0 outlook client will not connect successfully.

Note that the 2016 Outlook plug-in version 8 requires IE11 present to run (not edge), and that is on the Way out now for good.
The dynamics 365 app for Outlook required your CRM serverside at version 9. (Even though your CRM might be named 365 already it might just be on 8.2)
I think we may have just found this out the hard way..
I am doing my best to get rid of IE, not maintain it!
