Basics of AX 2009 development

I'm new to Microsoft Dynamics AX development and I'd like to learn basic things about it. I have a virtual machine with the '09 version installed.

Is it essential to get familiarized with the language (X++) from the beginning? What should I start with (tutorials, videos, overviews, guided tours) and where do I find it?

I'd like links, tips, or anything that may help!

Is it easy to find step by step tutorials? Any links for that?

    Hi,

If you do a basic search, you'l find a lot of tutorials, Microsoft Learning Materials, etc. And now find the proper forum also :) X++ is a must for a developers, and some basic X++ is a nice to have for a consultant. One of the best place to start is the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Development Cookbook, I think.

    Regards,

    István

This is a topic which has been frequently discussed here. Step 1 to become a developer is learning how to use search engines to find answers on your own:
