Copying down field value across rows

Is there a way to copy down data from one field to other fields across multiple rows in a quick and efficient way?

Currently at my company we're all just using F8 and arrow down and we keep pressing the F8 button to copy it down across the rows. Seems like a silly way to do this for large number of rows.

that is how every one will be doing F8.

or you can create a function to copy the first line value of field to selected rows etc.

You can probably make a button anywhere in the page and a code to copy the value for all records available, Make sure which value to copy.

Hi NielsC,

We call it "machine bird" when hear key down sound continuously (from someone presses F8 and down arrow keys :-)

For large number of rows, I usually:

1. Export data to Excel, edit data in Excel, then import it back.

2. Use Automation Tool, one of my favorite is Pulover's Macro Creator: http://www.macrocreator.com/
