Purchase Trade Agreement - Different prices for same product

Posted on by 4,029 Super User 2024 Season 2
  1. We buy individual components as part of a pre-assembled kit at $100 each
  2. We buy the same components as spare parts at $150 each

How do we configure Trade agreement to handle two different prices for the same part, quantity, site, warehouse?

Thanks in advance . . .

RE: Purchase Trade Agreement - Different prices for same product

I would suggest creating standardized trade agreements per each vendor.

    Item A | Vendor A | $100 - Trade Agreement 01

    Item A | Vendor B | $150 - Trade Agreement 02

I will also note that I am not sure if it is standard industry practice to keep kitted items the same as their individual parts in the system, regardless if you sell them as the same item. Correct me if I am wrong, I believe standard practice would be:

    Item 1 (individual part)

    Item 2 (individual part)

    Item 3 (individual part)

Kitted item(s) (collection of Items 1-3)

Let me know if this is helpful, I haven't come across this issue before. I was reading about some solutions that may fit your needs here: www.encorebusiness.com/.../tricks-using-trade-agreement-journals-dynamics-365-finance-operations

They can be purchased from separate or same vendor, depending on price, availability, etc.

You are able to separate Purchase Price(s)/Trade agreements at the account selection/vendor level. Do you by chance purchase these item(s) from separate vendors?

Are there any other options?  We're not using configs/variants.  Is there a way to maybe assign attributes directly to the released product that would define it as an 'aftermarket' usage and allow for distinct trade agreement lines?  Thanks

Perhaps add another configuration to the same product. Similar to how retail stores might have goods. Example.

    Item A: Shirt

Configuration 1: 1st Quality Good "sellable"

Configuration 2: Sample Made Good "marketing purposes
