How to see the translation of the G/L accounts in a balance sheet/income statement?

Hi,

we have the option to use Dynamics NAV 2016 in an additional language (English). I have made a translation of all G/L accounts but when printing a balance sheet from the English version of the system, still the G/L accounts are shown in Swedish. Is there a possibility to have a report with the translated G/L accounts? What is the point in translating G/L accounts otherwise?

Would be very glad for a solution. /Marie

Ok now I understand how it works. Yes, it seems then like we need an add-on. Thank you for your time!

    Marie,

I did not recall this as a standard functionality of W1 version. As per your screenshot, this translation functionality looks to me as specific add-on, installed to your system. Perhaps, this is the one- SweBase? www.nabsolutions.se/.../1471243612DokumentationSweBasePE6.03.01.pdf

If so, then your specific questions of why certain translation is not appearing in certain report, should be addressed either to your partner or to this Swedish partner who develops this add-on. Unfortunately, we would be able to give little help on that ((.

    Marie,

Can you do a small favor just to be sure? From this translation page that you showed, press CTR+ALT+F1 (or, which is the same, go to "About This Page" menu - as written here: msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd996624(v=nav.90).aspx), and publish here a screenshot with the page properties?

Here's a print screen. I am not sure what you mean with Swedish localisation, but all companies we have in NAV are Swedish. 8623.Translation-SWE.PNG

    Marie,

Can you post a screenshot with the translation functionality (under navigate)? Are you using Swedish localization?

Hi Alexander, did you see my reply to your answer on the Translation question? I would be very happy to get help.

I have added the translation on each account (in the chart of accounts), by clicking on the account, then choosing translation (under navigate). I want to be able to print a balance sheet and income statement with not only the headings in english, but each separate account's translation. What are the translation on G/L account level for if it not is usable in reports? :)

There are two different things: interface of the system and the data that is input to the system. Regardless what interface you will use (that is, in what language there would be fields and buttons), the data that you input will be always the same language you entered that.

That is, if you had put Swedish names in the Name of the account, it would always be Swedish regardless the interface.

So, it depends what fields are you using in the report to show your names or descriptions. Where exactly you had put your translation?
