Trial environment- how to get sample data

Hello, Community!

I got a trial environment of D365 for Finance and Operations. I am wondering how can I get sample data in Finance and Operations without using LCS. Is it possible? 

In the LSC env. i dont see any options available for me, for some reasons I can create only the black project with the NAV product name.

The main need is to have a configuration in place, because as I am a new person in this field, I dont know from where to start configuring all the required set up and categories to be able simply to create f.e vendor, pr, po records.

Any help is appreciated.

    Hi jstefanskaja,

    What exact trial are you referring to? Did you spin off a trial on trials.dynamics.com? Do you have a local VM?

    Usually the trials and development or demo boxes do have demo data installed.

    If you don't have access to LCS, you have to signup for a customer or partner trial: Sign up for preview subscriptions - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

    Hi jstefanskaja,

    I think you can not do what you are trying to do with trial version. It's only used to evaluate the processes in D365FO, and this system can't be used for development.

    As André said, If you are a Dynamics customer or partner, you can sign up for a customer / partner trial(please check the link provided by him), then you can download a local virtual machine (VHD) with a fully functional system.

    I am preparing for MB-300 and MB-310 exams. And the main idea is to try all standard functionality. But when I am trying to create lets say: vendor, pr or po, i am missing a lof of different financial configuration, so can not proceed. Trying to find a faster way to get configuration and some of the records just to try functionality :)

    Talking about LCS, exam contains this topic, but I can not try it in practice with trial env.
