Export to Data Lake

Hi all,

I'm wondering is there anyone here can guide me with "Export to Data Lake" procedure. As per my understanding now is still under Public Preview, I found there is no suitable document yet to follow, or if there is, I'm afraid it is outdated as things keep changing or fixing at this moment. But on top of it all, I'm not good at reading docs. at least Microsoft docs, unless it has the step by step what to do clearly.

So it's like :

  • What are the prerequisites ? and how to prepare those.? (means the detail step)
  • What to set / activate / install, in orderly manner, 1st - 2nd - and so on... to make it works.
  • What tools needed and how to use it.

I know it will be lengthy, so a remote Teams discussion is of course welcome.

Or if it is difficult, at least which reference is good to start will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi VoltesDev,

You will probably not like my answer, but I can for this only refer to the Microsoft documentation: Configure export to Azure Data Lake - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

If you are missing some parts or certain steps are not clear, you can provide feedback on Microsoft Docs or ask specific questions here.

    Hi Andre,

On the contrary I really appreciate any lead or suggestion. I will try my self first and see how far I can go. I would welcome any other suggestion though, perhaps someone found some nice blog with the up to date procedure because as mentioned, many out there but some no longer relevant. 'Coz often I found blogger can somehow explain more clear and direct in order "just" to make it work first.

    Many thanks in advance.

Yeah, I would agree with Andre here. Nowadays MS puts a lot of effort to make the documentation more useful and the efforts are visible now.

Give a try with this document and post your specific questions. Also, you may need a tier-2 machine for it as to my best knowledge Azure Data lake is not available for one box environments.

I would also recommend to join the private yammer group related to this particular feature. Or you can post here and will try to help.

    Hello Andre,

Do you have any link or step by step document to export the data to data lake from cloud hosted (tier-1) environment in the form of tables ?

    Regards
