Hello Team,
Could you clarify, does Microsoft Dynamics GP allow doesn't use of the Kerberos authentication protocol?
I mean, is Kerberos authentication protocol required or optional for Microsoft Dynamics GP?
Microsoft Dynamics GP doesn't use Windows accounts, it uses SQL logins, so, Dynamics GP itself, doesn't use nor require Kerberos authentication as it doesn't use Windows authentication.
Where we see something like Kerberos come into play for Dynamics GP, to give you one example, is the SQL SRS reports deployed from Dynamics GP. Permissions to those reports, as well as Excel reports, are given to the user's Windows account, not their GP login.
If we have the SQL Server/GP databases on one server, SQL Reporting Services on another server, and we're trying to access the SSRS reports from a third machine, we run into the limitation as to the number of hops Windows authentication can handle, thus would need Kerberos to allow that type of configuration.
Otherwise, we don't normally require nor need Kerberos for Microsoft Dynamics GP.
