Issue with D365 Marketing Form Embedding on External Websites

Dear D365 team,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out to seek assistance with an issue we've encountered while embedding D365 marketing forms on our external websites, specifically those under our authenticated domain.

Here's the problem: When users submit the forms, only the initial submission creates a lead in our system. Subsequent submissions update the lead's status but fail to generate new leads based on the form's topic.

To provide further context, we have four pages, each featuring embedded D365 forms with distinct topic names. Despite submitting the forms with the same email address across all pages, only the first submission registers as a lead in our system.

While all submissions are recorded in the Marketing Forms Insights section, subsequent submissions do not create separate leads but rather update the existing lead's status.

This issue poses a significant challenge for us, particularly since each page represents a different event. Ideally, users should be able to sign up for multiple events and trigger journey activities corresponding to each separate topic.

We would greatly appreciate any insights or solutions you may have regarding this matter. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

    Hi,

Since I'm using the Customer Insights-Journeys trial version without the outbound marketing module, I can't test it.

However, according to the Microsoft documentation.
Do not create/update contacts or leads
You can also collect form data but choose not to create new contacts or update contacts or leads.

    Best Regards,
    Dengliang Li

    Hi Dengliang,

It seems like you have sent us the solution for real-time marketing, but the forms we have embedded are from "Outbound Marketing" instead, do you have a solution for that? Apologies for missing out this information at first place.

    Hi,

You can set the form's duplicate record handling strategy to always create new record.
Manage Customer Insights - Journeys forms - Dynamics 365 Customer Insights | Microsoft Learn
This way, even if a duplicate email lead is submitted, it is considered a new record, not an update record.
